Development of the Skala House Number Database - The house numbers in which family members in Skala lived
are being mapped, using vital records, tax payer and voters lists. This unique database has
provided genealogists with the names of family members who lived in the same house but did not have
the same surname. It has enabled the creation of novel links between family trees.
For example: Revealing the link between the branches of Shimon Wiesenthal and his sisters Golde
and Beile (all three were living in house number 27, according to their marriage records) led to
the establishment of links between the Wiesenthal-Schwartz-Weidenfeld branches of this family.
